Giving Thanks

This is a week for giving thanks for gifts that have come upon us as individuals and as community. And so, to celebrate our gifts, I invite you to join me in my blog to add your own thanks in the comments section of this post.

I will start with some of my own: I am grateful for the community I live in, my neighbors, their graciousness, and their gardens. I am grateful for any bits of rain that fall on our parched ground.

Thanks to literature and theater for nourishing my mind, for all writers and performers who share intimacies and emotions so eloquently.

I am forever grateful for family and friends throughout my life, some who have been with me for a very  long time, others who have come into my life only a short time ago. And, I am grateful for having had shared friendship and love with those who are no longer in my life.

I thank you, too, for taking time to read my work.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones,

Vivian

  1. I am thankful that my kids and grandkids live so close to me that they are part of my everyday life.
I am thankful for music in all forms.
I am grateful for my friends both near and far who are always in my heart.
I am thankful for the beauty and embrace of the forests, oceans and mountains
    that grace this earth.
Most of all I am grateful for God’s blessings.

  2. I too give thanks for family, friends (old and new), nature, trees, birds, flowers. I give thanks for being able to sing with friends, choruses, at bedsides of people who are dying.
I give thanks for writers whose books I read with much pleasure.
I give thanks for actors, producers, set designers and stagehands, musicians, singers, writers, nature conservationists: all those who love the world and the creatures who live on it.
